back in July I had a little fire myself. Fortunately I had Shawn (FANTAZ) with me, and he managed to remain level headed while I paniced cause my Z was on fire. We pulled into a gas station and Shawn put the fire out with a hose before the fire really had a chance to spread. Once the car was back at my place, we started trying to find the cause of the fire. Again Shawn pretty much took care of that because I have very little skill as far as electrical problems go. Turns out the power transistor that I bought brand new from Courtesy Nissan came with a crappy harness. The ground wire for the transistor had dried out insulation on it and so did the trigger wire for the number 6 coil pack. Coincidentally, those 2 wires happen to sit right next to each other inside the harness. Well they arced and shorted out the coil pack causing it to heat up and burst into flames right under the fuel delevery hose. Maybe what happened to me is the same thing that has been happening to others lately?
